Welcome to 2026…

…where the hits kinda keep on coming. Just as I thought I was going to settle down to using the replacement 1D (and I took it to Cathedral Cove for a sunrise shoot) I find that it has developed a shutter problem. So it is now off for a warranty repair of that issue.

Yeesch.

Come on life, give a guy a break will ya?

Still at least I did get to have a very fun time walking into Cathedral Cove in the dark to be there for the sunrise. And what a lovely spot it is.

I did make it here in 2020 but missed the sunrise by five minutes. This time I got there early enough to not only see the sunrise but also largely have the place to myself. So it was a satisfying return to getting out there with a camera and seeing some of the beauty this country has to offer.

With a little luck the camera will be back soon and I can start planning trips to other interesting spots.
